Germany 1974

In 1974, the German pre-selection took place behind closed doors. There were 3 acts who performed their song for a jury of "experts" : Jürgen Marcus sang Grand Prix D'Amour, Anne Karin sang Dahmals Im Frühling and Cindy & Bert sang Die Sommermelodie. The "expert" jury chose Die Sommermelodie.

It is rumoured that Cindy & Bert didn't like Die Sommermelodie at all. They chose Spaniens Gitarren but their manager insisted that Cindy & Bert went to Brighton with Die Sommermelodie. And so it happened......... In Brighton Cindy und Bert received only three points and ended last, a position they shared with three others.
