Nora Brockstedt

Nora Brockstedt is a successful Norwegian singer, born on 20 January 1923. She first entered a professional stage at the age of 20, namely the highly reputed Chat Noir in Oslo. During the next two decades, she managed to become one of Norway's most famous and beloved singers and entertainers. Throughout the 1950s she had several sing-along radio hits.

Nora Brockstedt won the Norwegian pre-selection for the Eurovision Song Contest three times. In 1960 with Voi Voi, in 1961 with Sommer I Palma and in 1963 with Solherv. At the Eurovision Song Contest she only performed twice. In 1963 she claimed she couldn't go because of other engagements although it's rumoured she feared a bad score with Solherv so Anita Anita Thallaug was chosen to go to London instead. At the Eurovision Anita came equal last.

Over the last few years, Nora has focused more on the jazz genre, with successful albums like As Time Goes By (2004) and Christmas Songs (2005). She also did jazz in the 60s, but was more known for her conventional pop songs.
