Germany 1964


The German national final 1964 was held at the TV studios in Frankfurt, hosted by Hilde Nocker. Six songs took part, with the winner chosen by an "expert" jury and a public jury. Only the scores and placements of the top three songs are currently known.

The results:

1. Man gewöhnt sich so schnell an das Schöne - Nora Nova, 38 votes
2. Ein Chanson in der Nacht - Gitta Lind, 27 votes
3. Das macht dein Lächeln, Mona Lisa - Fred Bartelmann, 19 votes
4. Regenbogen, Regenbogen - Peter Kirsten
4. Wie wom Wind verweht - René Kollo
4. Wohin ist der Sommer? - Gerhard Wendland

Nora Nova was born as Ahinora Kumanova in Bulgaria and came to Germany in 1960, she had a couple of successes in Germany and Switserland. In 1964 she won the German pre-selection for the ESC with the song Man Gewöhnt Sich So Schnell An Das Schöne. At the Eurovision Song Contest In Copenhagen she came last.After the contest Nora stopped singing and in 1989 she went back to Bulgaria to open a fashion boutique shop in Sofia.

Man gewöhnt sich so schnell an das Schöne, still holds the record for the longest ever song title in a Eurovision final.
