Gianni Morandi (born December 11, 1944) is an Italian pop-singer and entertainer who sold over 30 million records since 1962.
He participated several times at the Festival di Sanremo:
1972 - Vado A Lavorare - 4th
1980 - Mariù
1983 - La Mia Nemica Amatissima - 8th
1987 - Si Può Dare Di Più, with Enrico Ruggeri and Umberto Tozzi - 1st
1995 - In Amore, with Barbara Cola - 2nd
2000 - Innamorato - 3rd
In 1970 he represented Italy at the ESC in Amsterdam with the song Occhi Di Ragazza which came 8th.
Morandi was chosen to be the host of Sanremo Music Festival 2011 together with Belén Rodriguez and Elisabetta Canalis. Gianni Morandi also played as an actor in several TV series, as well as the host in popular Italian television shows.
