José Guardiola

José Guardiola (October 22 1930 – April 9 2012) was a Spanish singer who sang in Spanish and Catalan.

José Guardiola was born in Barcelona, Spain. He performed and recorded mostly Spanish versions of foreign songs and reached his maximum fame in Spain and Latin America in the early 1960s with versions of popular songs, ESC songs and Festival di sanremo songs. He was known as the Spanish Crooner due to his style and the types of songs he sang.

In 1963 José Guardiola represented Spain in the Eurovision Song Contest with the song Algo Prodigioso, placing 12th with 2 points. At that time he also sang a few songs with his daughter. José Guardiola retired in 2008.
