Tony Wegas

Tony Wegas, born as Anton Hans Sarközi on May 3 1964 in Unterschützen is an Austrian singer, musician and television actor.

Tony was born in a Roma family and was inspired by his father who also was a musician.

In 1991 Tony participated in the Austrian national final with the song Wunder Dieser Welt which came 2nd. In 1992 he was invited by Austrian television to sing the Dieter Bohlen song Zusammen Geh'n at the ESC in Sweden. He was one of the favourite to win but he stranded on a disappointing 10th place. In 1993 he got another chance. He sang al the song in the Austrian pre-selection for the ESC. The winning song Maria Magdalena came 14th in Millstreet.

In the following years Tony had major problems with alcohol and drugs. In 2000 he wrote a book about his addiction.

Tony is still active in music and is trying to make a comeback.
