ESC 2011, the Big 5 - France

Amaury Vassili (born June 8 1989 in Rouen, Upper Normandy) is a French singer and the youngest professional tenor in the world. His debut album Vincero from 2009 went double platinum in France, and he got international success with releases in Canada, South Africa and South Korea.

Amaury began singing at the age of 9 at the musical school in Rouen. At 14 he participated in his first singing contest, were he won 1st prize by singing Amsterdam which was originally sung by Jacques Brel. After that he participated in several contests. Amaury became famous after releasing his debut album Vincero in 2009 which sold more than 250,000 copies. His second album Cantero was eleased in November 2010. On 27 January 2011 it was announced by the French broadcaster France Télévisions, that Amaury Vassili would be the French entrant at the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 in Düsseldorf. The song was revealed as Sognu, and will be performed in Corsican.
