World Popular Song Festival - Dee Dee

Dee Dee is a Dutch singer who was born in 1956 in Amsterdam as Anna Dekkers. She was a member of the band Head Over Heels in the early 70's.

In 1978 she recorded the album Loving You. In that same year Dee Dee represented the Netherlands at the World Popular Song Festival with the song Hold Me which stranded in the semi-finals.

Her biggest hit was I Put A Spell On You. Aside from her solo work Dee Dee sang with Johnny Kendall, Herman Brood, Beau Boy and Vulcano.

After Vulcano split up in 1986 Dee Dee participated in the Dutch national final for the ESC with the songs Fata Morgana (2nd) and Clown (3rd). In the 80s Dee Dee released a a few singles which were not very succesful. In 1992 Dee Dee stopped her career to spend more time with her family.
